Maafaru , Maldives

Maafaru is one of the islands of Noonu Atoll in the Maldives. Noonu atoll also called Southern Miladhunmadulu Atoll or Miladhunmadulu Dhekunuburi is the administrative division of the Maldives associated with the southern section of Miladhunmadulu Atoll.  This atoll has a record expanse of plentiful fish that can be found in the Maldives notably Snappers and Fusiliers. Another common attraction is the large populace of Spinner Dolphins. Noonu region is also prominent for scuba diving such as the popular ‘Orimas Thila’ which is a shark site that dwells grey and white tip reef sharks. The Maafaru International Airport was opened to cater to the demands of the region and commercial flights began operations from Dec 1st 2019.
