With the expansion of our Airline, so does our Cargo business. As the leading domestic airline in the country, we are known for our efficiency and reliability offering secure and convenient connections through our local and international flights. Maldivian, being the National Airline of the country, we are uniquely positioned to bridge the islands between North and South via our hub in Male consequently giving us better flexibility to use our capacity efficiently and transport cargo. Maldivian Cargo currently manages International, Domestic and Express Cargo Services.

Express Cargo

Our Express Cargo offices at stations and in Male’ offer customers the access to our entire Domestic network to forward small courier packages to their loved ones at home.

Parcels up to a weight of 10 kg from Male’ and up to 15 kg from other domestic stations, per person per destination per day, based on space availability, with a dimension not exceeding 60 cm on any side of the package, will be accepted as express cargo.

Special handling cargo like dangerous goods, highly perishable items, vulnerable cargo, valuable cargo, live animals, and plants will not be accepted as express cargo, and for these items, customers can use our cargo service available at airports.

For Express Cargo shipments, customers have the option to choose doorstep delivery at certain destinations. 

Domestic Cargo Services

Domestic Cargo Service is available at all domestic airports where Maldivian operates. Customers shall handover shipments at the respective airport or to the designated cargo accepting area in ready for carriage condition. Before planning shipments, customers are advised to contact our designated cargo offices or agents at respective stations in order to check the availability of space or for any special arrangements required for special handling cargo like perishables, human remains, valuable and vulnerable cargo, live animals, and dangerous goods. Customers shall make prior bookings to carry these special handling cargo items and ensure that all regulatory requirements (if any) are completed before cargo is handed over to Maldivian.

The maximum weight per piece accepted on our bulk aircraft is 80 kg and for the maximum dimension accepted, please contact our station office for clarification.

The consignee or agents shall collect inbound cargo from designated warehouses or terminals at respective airports through the appointed cargo-handling agents. 

International Cargo Services

International Cargo Service is available at all international destinations where Maldivian operates, to and from Velana International Airport. Customers shall handover shipments at the designated cargo accepting areas at these airports in ready for carriage condition, after completion of customs and security formalities. To make bookings, customers are requested to contact Maldivian Cargo GSAs, CSAs, or Station offices at these origins. The shipper must confirm space for all international shipments before the cargo is delivered to the airport. Maldivian accepts shipments in ready for carriage conditions, and all shippers must adhere to all rules and regulations laid down by the origin or destination regulators.

For packages that require special handling (i.e., dangerous goods, live animals, valuables, human remains…Etc.), shippers shall make prior bookings to carry these items and ensure all regulatory processes, if any, are completed before cargo is handed over to Maldivian.
