- Due to volume restrictions in the aircraft fleet, uplifting large and bulky items are a challenge that incur limitations in the maximum size and number we can uplift on each flight. Uplifting of such items are subject to conditions, charges and are defined below.
- Any item in the checked baggage that the passenger is carrying that exceed 60 linear inches (sum of all dimensions) will be subject to additional charges. A very common example is sports equipment such as Surfbags and Dive-Gear. All such items will be considered as “High Volume Baggage” and will be subject to additional charges, limitations and conditions mentioned below.
- If you are carrying any High Volume Baggage we highly recommended to contact our ticketing office via email (cc@iasl.aero) as soon as possible and inform the number of pieces, the dimensions and weight, to ensure guaranteed delivery of these items. Arranging the uplifting of these items on the day of travel at the airport, or even a few days before the travel date is a very challenging process where it’s likely that the baggage will have to be uplifted on the next available flight. The earlier we are informed, the better we can provide the service.
- The additional charges do not give the passenger any additional baggage allowance. These charges are purely to cover the volumetric cost incurred by uplifting such baggage. Hence, the baggage allowance will be the same amount mentioned on the respective ticket, and excess baggage charges will still be collected at the airport if the baggage allowance is exceeded.
- Depending on availability of seats and volume of the aircraft, High Volume Baggage may have to be uplifted on a flight separate from the passenger on the next available flight or before the passengers flight. All High Volume Baggage being uplifted on a flight after the passengers will be checked-in at the airport on the passengers flight and uplifted on the planned flight.
- Any High Volume Baggage being uplifted on a flight before the passenger will have to be submitted to our Cargo Counter and is subject to the cargo documentation process, airport storage and handling charges collected at the counter. These charges are in addition to the High Volume Baggage charge that we collect, and shall be borne by the passenger.
- Only Surf bags in the subchapter below have a predetermined price. Our ticketing office will advise charges for all other types of High Volume Baggage.
