Chennai previously known as Madras is the capital in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. It is located on the Coromandel Coast off the Bay of Bengal and this vivacious city functions as a key business, economical and cultural center in India. The city boasts a rich heritage of art and culture, the two most widespread being Carnatic music and Bharatanatyam, which is part of the Tamil culture. Chennai has the second biggest port in the country and is also known as the Detroit of India and houses one of the biggest automobile in the country. This is also the third city in the country with the most expatriates.
