Kulhudhuffushi is known as the heart of the North and is the capital of Haa Dhaalu Atoll. The name of the island originated from the word “Kulhi” means mangroves in the local language.  Kulhudhuffushi is also a well-known tourist attraction in the country. The Kulhudhuffushi domestic airport was opened in August 2019 to cater to the demands of the region.
