Maldivian Marks One Year of Air Ambulance Services
Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, celebrates the first anniversary of its Air Ambulance services. To mark this milestone, a special event was held today at the North Apron of Velana International Airport.
The event featured the Air Ambulance aircraft and was attended by prominent cabinet members, including the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Captain Mohamed Ameen, and the Minister of Health, Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim. Senior management from Island Aviation Services Limited and representatives from related organizations involved in the operation were also present.
As of March 1st, 787 medical evacuation flights have been conducted, transporting a total of 931 med vac passengers. The Air Ambulance service is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Health, Emergency Medical Services, the National Social Protection Agency (NSPA), and Asandha Company Limited.
This milestone highlights the government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare accessibility and emergency response capabilities across the Maldives. The Air Ambulance service has been pivotal in providing essential medical transport and support, ensuring timely and effective care for patients in need. Operating 24/7, the service utilizes specialized aircraft equipped with advanced medical facilities for swift and safe patient transport.
